The little pocket mouse (Perognathus longimembris) is a species of rodent in the family Heteromyidae. Alnus rhombifolia, the white alder, is an alder tree native to western North America, from British Columbia and Washington east to western Montana, southeast to the Sierra Nevada, and south through the Peninsular Ranges and Colorado Desert oases in Southern California. It’s a great place to get out of the rain – nice wide porches on both sides wit benches. The San Gabriel River Trail is 6.6 miles long and follows the scenic North and South San Gabriel Rivers. There is an attractive wayside there with info kiosk, seating, water fountain and nice ornamental gates. The trail just ends across from a housing development while Rt.
